With most content management systems, you don't even have to know how to program and still end up with a really, really good looking site packed with slick features like forums, photo galleries and blogs.

Like I said using a CMS really speeds things up. If I had to build these websites from scratch with the same functionality and technology it would probably have taken me well over several months -- I don't know about you, but I don't have the time or patience for that -- I want my website up NOW!
Stomach for web programming If you have the fortitude and patience to build a website from scratch by programming html, javascript, php, etc., then by all means good luck. If I had to learn any or all of those languages in detail, I probably would never make any websites.
